الحمد لله الكريم المنان، الرحيم الرحمن، ذو الجود والعطاء، أحمد حمداً يليق بجلاله وعظيم سلطانه، امتن علينا بالإيمان وهدانا للإسلام، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله عظيم الشأن، وأشهد أن محمداً عبده ورسوله أكرم الكرماء، وأسخى الأسخياء، يعطي عطاء من لا يخشى الفقر، صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وأصحابه أهل الجود والعطاء. فسوف نتكلم عن كريم عُرف بكرمه، وجواد عرف بجوده، وسخي عرف بسخائه، لم يأته من الدنيا شيء إلا أنفقه، وما وصل يده مال إلا فرقه، لم يكن بخيل قط، ولم يقل يوماً لا، بل إنه كان يتمنى لو أن جبل أحد ذهبا يفرقه في سبيل الله. وها هو -عليه الصلاة والسلام- لا يطمئن له بال ولا يستقر له قرار وفي بيته مال إلا بعد أن ينفقه, فقد جاء عن سمرة بن جندب -رضي الله عنه-، أن رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كان يقول: ((إني لألج هذه الغرفة ما ألجها إلاّ خشية أن يكون فيها مالُ فأتوفى ولم أنفقه)) رواه الطبراني وحسنه الألباني، وعن سهل بن سعد -رضي الله عنه- قال: (كانت عند رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- سبعة دنانير وضَعها عند عائشة، فلَّما كان عند مرضه قال: ((يا عائشة، ابعثي بالذهب إلى علي)). ثم أغمي عليه. وشغل عائشة ما به، حتى قال ذلك مراراً. كل ذلك يغمى على رسو الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ويشغل عائشة ما به، فبعث إلى عليٍّ فتصدَّق بها، وأمسى رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- ليلة الاثنين في جديد الموت ، فأرسلت عائشة بمصباح لها إلى امرأة من نسائها، فقالت: أهدي لنا في مصباحنا من عُكَّتك السَّمْن، فإن رسول الله -صلى الله عليه وسلم- أمسى في جديد الموت) رواه الطبراني وصححه الألباني. وكان جوده -صلى الله عليه وسلم- كلّه لله، وفي ابتغاء مرضاته، فإنه كان يبذل المال إما لفقير، أو محتاج، أو ينفقه في سبيل الله، أو يتألف به على الإسلام من يقوى الإسلام بإسلامه، وكان يُؤثر على نفسه وأهله وأولاده، فيعطي عطاءً يعجز عنه الملوكُ مثل كسرى وقيصر، ويعيش في نفسه عيش الفقراء، فيأتي عليه الشهر والشهران لا يُوقَد في بيته نار، وربَّما رَبط على بطنه الحجر من الجوع، وكان قد أتاه صبيُّ مرةً فشكتْ إليه فاطمةُ ما تلقى من خدمة البيت، وطلبت منه خادماً يكفيها مُؤْنة بيتها، فأمرها أن تستعين بالتسبيح والتكبير والتحميد عند نومها، وقال: ((لا أُعطيك وأَدَع أهل الصُّفًّة تَطْوَى بطونُهم من الجوع)).
